UK-Invest 2nd August 1999 Wiggins Group PLC, the property developer, is pleased to announce that it has exchanged contracts with MEPC plc for the development of 350 acres at London-Manston Airport and adjacent Manston Park, with Wiggins retaining the airport operational land for the further development of the airport. MEPC will acquire land from Wiggins on demand for development at an initial price of £100,000 per acre, with Wiggins and MEPC dividing net development profits equally. An initial 20 acres will be developed by Wiggins to construct 305,000 sq. ft. of aviation related hangarage for which MEPC will pay £18,000,000, for the acquisition of the investment. MEPC will lease back the hangarage to Kent International Airport plc. The remainder of the land will be developed jointly for a mixture of cargo, distribution, maintenance, and manufacturing.
